There are some others who feel that blow drying will only damage their hair and is a total waste of electricity and hence they prefer air drying.
Which one is the best option?
Both blow drying and air drying has their own advantages and disadvantages. Apart from that, there are proper and improper ways to do it. Read the following to get a good idea about it.
Air drying
People with curly hair or the ones who have short and low maintenance hairstyles are the ones who chiefly use air drying. In normal cases, air dry will not make the hair to undergo excess heat so that there will not be any threat or damage associated with it.
Whenever you try to dry your hair, please remember that the hair is very weak when it is wet so that you need to take extra care while drying your hair. You should not rub the hair dry with a towel. This is because even the slightest friction produced by rubbing of the towel with the dry hair will weaken the hair making it fragile and easy to break. It will be a wise idea to blow the moisture out of the hair than rubbing it with a towel. Fluff the hair out with your fingers when the water is blotted out and take care not to pull or tug the hair when it is still wet.
Blow drying
Most of the people are using blow drying because it is the most convenient way to dry hair. In addition, people are having fast paced lives and blow drying will not consume much time. It is very useful as it will add volume to the hair. Although it is very convenient, if overdone, it will be dangerous to the hair.
You should make sure that the hair is not soaking if you are blow drying your hair. The first thing you need to do is to blot the water out with a towel. The dryer should not be held closer to the head and it is advisable to keep it at least six inches away from your hair to prevent any hair damage and to get the best results. To avoid over drying of hair, you may bend over a little to protect the outer strands. Do not try to dry your hair completely with the blow drier; you may stop the process while the hair is still a bit damp.
Both air drying and blow drying are good and can be used as per your convenience. The only thing you need to bear in your mind is that your hair is very fragile and you need to be very careful when dealing with it.
