Is there really anything like ‘healthy’ hair? This seems to be practically impossible since hair is a thing without life – basically made of keratin and protein. The maximum men can do for their hair is to ‘maintain’ it well. The key to having good hair and preserving its strength is to simply maintain it well. What now do you do to repair your damaged hair? The only step to take is to cut off your damaged length of hair and allow hair to regrow into a shining bunch. However, for more added protection, Men need to follow some simple steps:
1. Keep the Scalp Completely Clean:
Scalp is the soul of your hair and hence it is of utmost importance that you keep this part of your body spotlessly clean for some great shiny and sleek looking hair. You can refer to the scalp care tips in this regard.

2. Keep your hair trimmed:
Split ends are one of the biggest problems faced by most of us and the simple way to take care of it is by keeping your hair short and trimming it regularly. This will help you to cut off the damaged hair. Even if you plan to grow your hair a bit longer, you should get it trimmed every six weeks to avoid recurrence of split ends.
3. Do away with Frizz:
It is no doubt quite difficult to maintain frizzy bad hair but now you have the right product in hand to manage bad hair days. A good moisturizer conditioner can help you to avoid a fall in the moisture and protein content of the hair. For a better shiny look, you can apply some smoothing serum as well.
4. Avoid tight hats or caps:
It is so common to see people wearing tight hats for long periods losing their hair. Same is the case with people tying up very tight ponytails. This is simply because such suffocation to the hair will cause ‘traction alopecia’ which is a condition of the hair where strands of hair get pulled out of the scalp. This damage could be caused to your hair’s cuticle, and if not taken care of soon, it could lead to some permanent damage to your hair.
5. Stay healthy:
No matter how much you deny this point, your overall health is reflected in your hair as well. Unless you follow a good healthy lifestyle like eating well, exercising, drinking plenty of hair, getting enough sleep and reducing the stress in your life, you are not going to keep your hair well enough!
6. Use the right things for your hair:
It is a known fact now that your hair is most probable to get damaged or break off when it is wet. At such time using a brush to comb your hair could cause some irreversible damage to it. What you need to do is to use wide toothed comb, and gently untangle all the hair. Also do not use modern equipments like blow dryer or irons to dry your hair since it will further damage its texture.
7. Avoid towel drying:
This is the worst thing you can do to your hair. When the hair is wet, it is highly prone to risk and such drying action might actually tangle up your hair with the threads of the towel. What follows is breaking off of your hair since the towel stretches its strands to the break-off point. This can cause a huge damage to the cuticle of your hair invariably leading to frizziness and split ends.

8. Avoid hot water:
It is true that the cold water hits you hard, but nothing is better than that for your hair. Very hot water can badly hurt your scalp and do away with essential oils leading to dryness.
9. Keep away from chemicals:
Today styling is mostly associated with coloring and perming your hair which when done well helps to boost your personality a lot. But these methods should be not tried at home and it would always be better to entrust your hair to a professional.
10. Use good quality shampoo and conditioner:
What this can do for your hair is to help you clean it, add elasticity to it, moisturize it, and smoothen the cuticle as well. The end result is shining and strong hair – much like you wanted it to be!
